Evidence Based Longevity (EBL)
Privacy

Your data, your control.

Evidence Based Longevity, Inc. (“EBL”), a California corporation, operates this site at evidencebasedlongevity.co. EBL is committed to protecting your personal information and being transparent about what data is collected, why, and how you can exercise control. This policy applies to all visitors, members, newsletter subscribers, contact senders, and clinician applicants.

This policy describes EBL’s practices. It does not replace any separate consent that the law requires before EBL collects or shares health information.

Section 01

Information We Collect

Information is collected in two ways, what you voluntarily provide, and what's collected automatically when you use the site.

Information you provide directly:

  • Email address, collected when you sign up for the monthly grade-changes email or contact us. Providing email is entirely voluntary; you may use most of the site without submitting it. The grade-changes signup sends EBL your email address and nothing else. It reaches EBL through Netlify Forms, which stores it on EBL’s behalf, and it is used only to send that email. Reply to any of them, or use the contact form, and your address is removed.
  • The seven-question check (the “Check what I take” report). Your answers and your report are built in your browser and saved there (localStorage) so you can return to them. They are never sent to EBL, and EBL has no copy. “Email this report to myself” opens your own email program with the report written in, and “Copy report” uses your own clipboard; in both cases the report goes from your device, not through EBL.
  • Voice intake. When you press Speak, your browser converts your speech to text. Some browsers send the audio to the browser maker’s servers for that conversion, under the browser maker’s own privacy terms. EBL does not receive the audio or the text.
  • Lab history (the Medication and Lab Monitor). Lab values, dates and notes you enter are saved in your browser (localStorage) so each later draw can be read against the earlier ones. They are never sent to EBL, and EBL has no copy, so EBL cannot restore them. “Download a backup” saves a file to your own device, and “Load from a backup” reads that file in your browser without uploading it.
  • Member account (EBL Pro). When you pay for a membership, EBL creates an account on this site with your email address and your first name, and records that the account is a member, the Stripe customer reference and payment link for your subscription, and the dates your membership began and, if it does, ended, along with a record of the Terms version and renewal terms you accepted and when you accepted them. Your password is chosen by you through an emailed link; EBL never emails a password and never sees it. Accounts are held by EBL’s website host, Netlify. Being signed in keeps a sign-in token in your browser (localStorage) until you sign out. Your account holds nothing about your health, supplements, medications or check answers; those stay on your device as described here.
  • Stack data. Supplements saved to "My Stack" are stored locally in your browser (localStorage). EBL has no copy of your stack and cannot read it.
  • Clinician application data. If you apply to the Founding 25 or any clinician program, the form asks for your name, email, telephone, practice name, practice address, professional credential, license state, license number and expiry, NPI, board certifications, years in practice, industry relationships and a professional reference. These are professional identifiers rather than personal health data, and they are collected for one purpose: to verify that an applicant is who they say they are and is licensed. Applications reach EBL through Netlify Forms, which stores them on EBL’s behalf, and are read only by the site’s owner. They are not sold, not shared with any supplement seller, laboratory, device manufacturer or affiliate partner, and are not used for marketing. License and NPI numbers are used to check public licensure registers and are never published on this site, in any form, including in the site’s own data files. Applications are retained for as long as the program runs plus twelve months, and are deleted sooner on request; unsuccessful applications are deleted within ninety days of the decision. Ask through the contact form and your application and its contents will be removed.
  • Contact messages, when you contact us, we retain the content of your message and your reply-to address in order to respond. Please do not include health information. EBL does not answer questions about your own treatment, medications, or doses, and the contact form does not ask for them. If a message includes health information anyway, EBL uses it only to reply and deletes it after the inquiry is handled. What you send is used only to answer you. It is not used for analytics, not used for marketing, never sold, and not shared with any supplement seller, laboratory or affiliate partner. Messages reach EBL through Netlify Forms, which stores them on EBL's behalf, and are read by the site's owner. They are retained only as long as needed to handle your inquiry and are deleted on request. Ask through the contact form and the message and its contents will be removed. EBL is not a covered entity under HIPAA and a contact message does not create a clinician-patient relationship, so please do not send anything you would not be comfortable putting in an ordinary email.

Information collected automatically:

  • Usage data (pages viewed, links clicked, time spent, scroll depth, referring URL) collected by Plausible Analytics, a cookieless analytics service. Plausible runs only on pages that name no health topic, such as the home, membership, legal and about pages. It does not run on any supplement, medication, condition, device, protocol or tool page, and no EBL tool sends it anything you choose or enter. Plausible receives the IP address and browser details your device sends with each request. EBL does not send Plausible your name or email address.
  • Device and browser data, browser type, OS, screen resolution, device type, and IP address, which EBL’s host and analytics vendor receive with each request.
  • Cookies and similar technologies. See Section 03.

EBL does not knowingly collect data from individuals under the age of 16. If you believe a minor has submitted personal information, please contact us so it can be removed. If EBL learns that it holds personal information from a child under 13, or from anyone under 16, EBL deletes it.

Children under 13. This site is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13. EBL does not knowingly collect, use, or disclose personal information from children under 13. Member accounts and memberships are available only to people 18 or older. If EBL learns that it has collected personal information from a child under 13, EBL deletes it promptly, closes any related account or newsletter signup, and does not use or share it. A parent or guardian who believes a child under 13 has provided personal information may email admin@evidencebasedlongevity.co to ask EBL to review that information, delete it, and stop any further collection or use. EBL responds to a parent request within 30 days.

Section 02

How We Use Your Information

  • To send the grade-changes email, if you sign up for it, your email address is used only to send you that monthly email. You may unsubscribe at any time by replying to any of them.
  • To improve the site, Plausible reports help EBL understand which content is useful and how visitors navigate.
  • To respond to inquiries, if you contact us, we use the information solely to respond.
  • To run memberships. EBL uses account and billing records to create and manage member accounts, send renewal reminders and receipts, process cancellations, and keep proof of the terms you accepted.
  • To comply with legal obligations. We may retain or disclose information as required by applicable law or in response to valid legal process.

EBL does not sell your personal information. EBL does not use your personal information for automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects.

Section 03

Cookies & Analytics

Essential cookies / localStorage. Required for core site functionality (e.g., your "My Stack" watchlist and dismissed CTA preferences). Cannot be disabled without breaking the relevant features.

Analytics. EBL uses Plausible Analytics. Plausible sets no cookies. It runs only on pages that name no health topic, such as the home, membership, legal and about pages, and not on any supplement, medication, condition, device, protocol or tool page. On those pages it receives the page address, your referring site, and the IP address and browser details your device sends, and it reports counts to EBL. No EBL tool sends Plausible anything you choose or enter. EBL does not send Plausible your name or email address. It does not build a profile of you, does not follow you to other websites, and no analytics data is sold or shared for advertising. Plausible is EU-hosted and acts as EBL's data processor.

Affiliate tracking cookies. When you click a link to a merchant with which EBL has a paid relationship, that merchant may set cookies on your device to attribute a resulting purchase to our referral. Each paid relationship is named on the disclosure page. Other merchants linked from this site may set their own cookies when you visit them. EBL does not control these third-party cookies. Refer to each merchant's privacy policy for details.

Most browsers allow you to block or delete cookies through their settings. Note that disabling cookies may affect site functionality (e.g., your saved stack will reset). Find cookie controls under Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies.

EBL does not currently respond to "Do Not Track" signals because no universally accepted standard has been established. EBL does not sell personal information or allow advertising networks to collect information through this site, so a Do Not Track signal would not change how EBL handles your data. Other parties may collect information about your online activities over time and across different websites when you use this site in one limited way. A merchant you reach through an affiliate link may set its own cookies, as described above.

Section 04

Third-Party Links

The site contains links to third-party websites, supplement and device retailers, diagnostic-test providers, academic journals, and other longevity resources. These links are provided for convenience and informational purposes only.

EBL does not operate, control, or endorse any third-party website. We are not responsible for the privacy practices, data collection, content, or security of any third-party site. Review the privacy policy of any external site before submitting personal information to it.

Third parties commonly linked from EBL include (but are not limited to):

  • Fullscript practitioner dispensary (fullscript.com)
  • Device manufacturers (Joovv, Sunlighten, BEMER, CAROL Bike, and others)
  • Diagnostic-test providers (TruDiagnostic, InsideTracker, Function Health, Everlywell, and others)
  • PubMed / NCBI (pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov)
Section 05

Affiliate Disclosure

EBL earns no commission on any item it grades. Supplements ordered through the Fullscript practitioner dispensary generate $0 for EBL in every account and at every membership tier. EBL may earn a commission on ungraded items only (device hardware and diagnostic-testing services) at no additional cost to you.

When you follow an affiliate link, the seller, or the network that runs its affiliate program (Awin, Impact or UpPromote), records the click and may set a cookie on its own site, so that a purchase can be credited to EBL. That tracking happens on the network's and seller's sites under their own privacy policies. EBL receives only the network's report of clicks and commissions; it does not receive your name, email address or payment details.

Member subscriptions and commissions on ungraded hardware and testing fund the ongoing research, writing, and maintenance of this site. Editorial decisions (evidence grades, rankings, and coverage choices) are made independently of commercial considerations, and on graded items there is no commission for a grade to be influenced by. EBL does not accept payment to improve a rating. See the Affiliate & Medical Disclaimer for the detailed statement on editorial independence.

Affiliate links are disclosed at the point of use on product pages and in the site-wide utility-bar disclosure. This Privacy Policy's affiliate section addresses how affiliate programs may interact with your data.

Section 06

Your Choices and Rights

Depending on your location, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information. EBL honors the requests below for every visitor, whether or not a particular privacy law applies to EBL.

Reviewing and changing your information. You may ask EBL to show you the personal information EBL holds about you, to correct it, or to delete it. This applies to member account details, newsletter signups, contact messages, and clinician applications. Send your request through the contact form or to admin@evidencebasedlongevity.co. EBL may ask you to verify your identity before it acts, and EBL responds within 30 days. EBL does not sell personal information and does not share it with others for their own marketing.

Washington, Nevada, and Connecticut residents. EBL’s design keeps health tool answers on your device. If EBL ever collects consumer health data, EBL will first publish a separate Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy, linked from the home page, and will ask for your consent before it collects or shares that data, as those states’ laws require.

EEA / UK Residents (GDPR / UK GDPR):

  • Right of Access, request a copy of the personal data EBL holds about you.
  • Right to Rectification, request correction of inaccurate data.
  • Right to Erasure, request deletion ("right to be forgotten").
  • Right to Restriction, restrict processing while a complaint is being resolved.
  • Right to Data Portability, receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format where processing is based on consent or contract.
  • Right to Object, object to processing based on legitimate interests, including direct marketing.
  • Right to Withdraw Consent, withdraw consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing.

EBL's lawful basis for processing grade-changes signups is your consent. For analytics, the lawful basis is legitimate interest in understanding site usage.

To exercise any of these rights, use the contact form or email admin@evidencebasedlongevity.co. Verified requests will be responded to within 30 days (or 45 days if an extension is required, with notice). You may be asked to verify identity before a request is processed.

If you are in the EEA or UK and believe your rights have not been honored, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority.

Section 07

Data Retention & Security

Personal information is retained only as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.

  • Email addresses (grade-changes email), retained until you unsubscribe or request deletion.
  • Member account, retained while you are a member and afterward until you ask for it to be deleted; email admin@evidencebasedlongevity.co.
  • Consent and billing records, kept for at least three years, or one year after your membership ends, whichever is longer.
  • Stack data (localStorage), lives only on your device. Clearing browser storage removes it; EBL has no copy.
  • Lab history (localStorage), lives only on your device. Clearing browser storage removes it; EBL has no copy. A backup file you downloaded stays wherever you saved it.
  • Analytics data: Plausible keeps analytics records under its own retention settings. EBL does not combine analytics data with your account, contact, or application records.

EBL implements reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, or disclosure. However, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure; absolute security cannot be guaranteed.

EBL's analytics processor, Plausible, hosts and processes its data in the European Union. Netlify (hosting, forms, and member accounts), Stripe (payments), and EBL’s email provider may process data in the United States under their own published safeguards. Netlify receives the IP address and page address of every request in order to host the site.
